November NEWS God has seasons and times for everything under this sun. It is comforting to know that when one thing ends, another begins. Jesus es el Camino ministry ended on November 11th. The church congregants ee extremely upset b God's word has helped them to move on, and some are visiting other Hispanic ministries in Cape Girardeau to find here God wll lead thm and plant thm in new congregations. We encouraged them at all times to seek the Lord and not give up or go back to doing worldly things. Just because Jesus es el Camino closed does not mean God is not with us. This is just another season in our lives. Our last Sunday was filled with worship and encouragement just like always. Afterwards we had a farewell potluck and some people shared their memories. Please keep the congregation and us in your prayers. We a lookig for employment and housing back in Illinois where we were living prior to coming to Cape Girardeau. Thank you for supporting this ministry that has touched and changed so many lives for the glory of the Lord!! |

Phrase of the month for October: El otoño....Fall or Autumn |
October Happenings El otoño (Fall/ Autumn) has arrived. We have many plans for this ontoño. On November 4th we will attend the District conference where Saul will share the Word of God and our brothers-in-Christ from the Jesus es el Señor church in Cobden, IL will lead worship. We hope to have many from our church go with us so they can see the many friendly faces of those in this district that support our ministry.
Another plan is to go to Louisville Kentucky for a 3-day church planting and growth training. It is nice to see that the church can offer us training so we can promote better growth of the church.
Also next month is Thanksgiving. We have so much to be grateful for. Plus we have much planning to do. If any of you would like to join us for our Thanksgiving service and dinner, please let us know by Nov 1st by emailing Tracy Munoz at pastorhm@sbcglobal.net or calling 573-579-5590. It would be a great way for you or your family to see how Hispanics celebrate Thanksgiving.

Phrase of the month for August: La Boda (Lah Bow-duh) Translation...The Wedding
|
August 2007This summer has been filled with wedding plans. Just last Sunday a couple from the church were married. They had a few complications and set backs, but the victory was won as they were pronounced husband and wife. As we helped them plan and carry-out the wedding= la boda (lah bow-duh), I was reminded about how we, Christ's church and His bride, have alot of preparing to do for our big day before His throne. We share with our congregation that constantly we should be preparing our lives for Christ's return. Our church ignited two new ministries. First, we have opened a cell group (also called a small group) in our home. Every Wednesday we meet together to learn about God's purpose for our lives. We too are excited about our new bookstore, "El Mana" (the bread from heaven). We are selling Bibles, Christian music CD's and various preaching on DVD's. The profits are to help buy a projector and laptop for our worship service and also to show evangelical movies in the park or outside of apartment complexes. Please pray for our people and rejoice with us in our new ministries.

Phrase of the month for June: Feliz Día De Los Padres (Fah-lees Dee-ah Day Lows Pah-drays) Translation...Happy Father's Day! Every day we should celebrate this day to the Lord, our one true Heavenly father.
|
June 2007 For many of the fathers in our congregation, father's day might not be the happiest time because many of them do not have their children or their wives with them in this country. It is common for the father and/or older sons to come to the USA to work and then send money back home to support their families. Like we have mentioned before, our congregation becomes their extended family. We also invite the community to join us on special days so they do not feel lonely. Plus they can hear the word of God. On father's day we had a blessed time. We started off with worship outdoors, lifted up the father's that were present to the Lord in prayer, cooked out and swam at a near-by lake. It was fun for the whole body of believers. |

Phrase of the month for May: Gloria a Dios (Glory-ah ahh Dee-oos) Translation: PRAISE THE LORD! Guitar Lessons at JEEC...
|
May 2007 Exciting things are happening at Jesús es el Camino At the end of April we celebrated "Children's Day." Currently we have an infant, Raquel(Rachael) and a toddler, Brando and one on-the-way in our group. They are such a blessing as any child is. The week after, we joined in fellowship with a baby shower. Then last week we lifted up the mothers in the congregation as we held an out-door service at the lake at Trail of Tears State Park. In Mexico, Mother's Day is always on May 10th, but in other Hispanic cultures it varies. So, not to show preference to just one culture we celebrated it the same day as this country. Also at the lake, Ronal who is from Honduras took a step in obedience to the Lord by being baptized. Gloria a Dios!!! |

April 2007 Dear Cape Lenten Cluster, My wife Tracy and I want to send out a "muchas gracias" to all who blessed us as you gave wonderfully to the Lenten offering. Your generosity will allow us to further God's kingdom amongst the Hispanics here in the Cape area. I was so blessed to participate in the New McKendree Lenten service on Palm Sunday. It was so nice to become acquainted with new faces. As we minister here, I am sure some of the new acquaintances will turn into new friends. I am hopeful that as opportunity comes, our congregation will be able to meet other believers in the United Methodist churches in this cluster. It is good for our congregation to see that there are brothers and sisters in Christ supporting us, even though not all speak the same language. Once again "muchas gracias" and may the Lord bless each of the churches in this cluster! Pastor Saul Munoz |

March 2007
March brought a big wind of change to our congregation. In about a 3-week period we had 6 people move from the Cape Girardeau area. One went back to his native country and others moved to be closer to relatives. Of course we were sad to see them go, but we know the seed of faith went with them. As some left, new people came. A father and his son have joined worship with us. We are blessed to have new faces amongst us every week. The Wednesday night Bible Study is growing in attendance! Those who work on Sunday are happy to join the mid-week celebration. Our current Bible study series is Christian Foundations. A few weeks ago I started leadership classes. I am teaching what are the different areas of service within the United Methodist Church. The people are exploring their talents and gifts given by God and how these things can be used to edify Christ and the Church. Please lift us up in prayer to the Lord as we raise up new leaders and testify to the unbelievers. God is faithful, always faithful! Pastor Saul Munoz |
