Southeast District of the Missouri Conference, The United Methodist Church

   Cindy and I will be in Kansas City, Missouri where we are appointed to serve Platte Woods United Methodist Church. We are undoubtedly excited about the opportunity to serve an absolutely fantastic congregation. It is a rather strange feeling. We thoroughly enjoy southeast Missouri. This is a great place to live and serve the Church. We would have felt blessed to continue in this ministry. At the same time we will be moving back closer to “home” and finding our families much nearer. We move to a new yet very familiar area of our conference. We feel blessed to have this appointment.
   I suppose in my heart I really love to preach and personally feel that my best contributions are in a local church. I do seek your prayers as we go and take on new responsibilities.
   Rev. David Norbury and his wife, Mary, will be coming to assume the responsibilities of District Superintendent in the Southeast District. I have known David for many years and am very happy that he and Mary will have the opportunity to live and serve in this district. He will be an extremely effective and caring superintendent. I know that you will come to love the Norbury’s and enjoy their ministry among you.
   My prayers are with you. My life has been forever fashioned by the experience of serving as your district superintendent. I look forward to seeing many of you in the days and years ahead as we all continue to serve Christ and the Church. Thank you for making this season of ministry a delight for Cindy and me.
